Onion Dip

1 cup chopped yellow or white onion
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup plain soy yogurt
¼ cup crumbled French fried onions plus 1 tablespoon crumbled French fried onions, divided
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 green onion, chopped

Sauté in skillet chopped onions with vegetable oil; cook until onions are softened and golden. Add sugar and salt; stir and cook an additional minute; remove from heat. Combine in mixing bowl plain soy yogurt, onions, ¼ cup crumbled French fried onion, Worcestershire sauce. Refrigerate about 30 minutes before serving.

To serve garnish with 1 tablespoon crumbled French fried onions and chopped green onion.  Serve with relishes and crackers.  Makes about 1½ cups and 2 tablespoons per serving
