Onion Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped yellow or white onion
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup plain soy yogurt
  • 1/4 cup crumbled French fried onions plus 1 Tbsp. crumbled French fried onions are softened and golden
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Directions:

  1. Saute in skillet chopped onions with vegetableoil; cook until onions are softened and golden.
  2. Add sugar and salt; stir and cook an additional minute; remove heat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine plain soy yogurt, sauteed onions, 1/4 cup crumbled French fried onions and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Refrigerate about 30 minutes before serving.
  5. To serve garnish with 1 Tbsp. crumbled French fried onions and chopped green onion.
  6. Serve with relishes and crackers.
