Cheddar Bacon Crispy Biscuits
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup margarine, cut into 1/2 -inch cubes
2 cups grated sharp Cheddar cheese
6 thick slices bacon, cooked and coarsely chopped
½ cup sliced green onions
1 ¾ cup buttermilk
Combine in mixing bowl all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add margarine and cut-in to flour mixture with pastry blender. Add cheese, bacon and onions; stir to lightly coat. Add buttermilk and stir to make a soft dough. Place ½ cup portions on parchment lined baking sheet about 2-inches apart. Bake at 425 degrees F. for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
