Apple Glazed Tart
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 12 Tablespoons margarine, cold, sliced
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 apples
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 Tablespoons margarine, melted
- 1/4 cup apple jelly
- 1 Tablespoon apple juice or cider
Directions:
- To make the pastry, combine the flour, 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Add 12 Tablespoons margarine and cut-in with pastry blender.
- Add cold water and mix to form dough.
- Knead on lightly floured board and wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate an hour.
- Line a quarter sheet pan (9 1/2 x 13-inch) with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured board roll the dough slightly larger than the pan and fit on the prepared pan.
- Slice apples into 1/4-inch thick slices.
- Place slices overlapping in rows on the dough to completely cover the dough.
- Sprinkle with the 1/2 cup granulated sugar and drizzle with the margarine.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes until pastry is browns and the edges of the apples start to brown.
- Heat apple jelly and apple juice in microwave for 30 seconds and stie to combine; use pastry brush to cover apples.
