Kansas Soybean Commission eyes mid-December to invest FY25 funds

Kansas Soybean Commissioners are gearing up to make important decisions at their Dec. 14-16 meeting. The board convenes at the Kansas Soybean Office in Topeka to analyze funding proposals for the 2025 fiscal year and conduct regular business.

Over 50 funding requests were submitted for consideration in categories ranging from agronomic and new use research to youth education and industry development. Commissioners plan to meet in November for a preliminary discussion on the submissions.

Project leads who receive approval are asked to make formal presentations at the December meeting before final funding decisions are made. Meetings begin at 8 a.m. each day with presentations slated for the first two days. The third day is reserved for discussion and final decisions. Commissioners also discuss current projects, market-development activities, educational programs and administrative items on the final day.

To suggest additional topics for deliberation or to obtain a complete agenda or instructions for calling into the meeting, contact KSC Administrator Kaleb Little at little@kansassoybeans.org or call the office at 877-KS-SOYBEAN (877-577-6923).

Research is integral to Kansas Soybean’s mission of improving farmer profitability. On-farm and industrial research projects funded through the checkoff add value by improving growing conditions and building demand for soybeans.
