Nutty Owl Cookies

¾ cup soynut butter
½ cup vegetable shortening
1¼ cups firmly packed light brown sugar
3 tablespoons soy beverage
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon baking soda
Optional decorations: decorator eye candies; almonds, dried fruit

Combine soynut butter, vegetable shortening, brown sugar, soy beverage and vanilla in large bowl; until well blended. Add egg; mix until combined with creamed mixture. Combine in bowl flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture; mix just until blended. Roll dough into ball; place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Flatten slightly and press eyes and nose into cookie to make an owl face.Bake at 350o for 10-12 minutes or until set and just beginning to brown. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to wire rack to cool completely.
